One of the eggs has a chip!!!

It's actually one that I thought had quit growing because we hadn't seen any movement the past few candlings!!! Now I am out of the room so I don't get tempted to "help" or otherwise harm the lil guys.

Everyone seems to be saying a day, but in my neighborhood (3 people were using 1 bator, but now we all have our own

) we take them out as soon as they are dry.
Just do what works for you. If you have a warm spot with a heat lamp & no draft I don't see a problem. Wouldn't want the poor babies to get burned.

I set eggs precisely 10 days ago. I got this one egg - it was flat on one side and malformed. I didn't think it stood a chance of developing. The seller referred to it as "soft" and apologized but said she didn't have enough to make up the number auctioned without the odd looking egg.
I don't normally candle until lock down but, well, I was curious.
What I saw in that egg - and many of the others were babies swimming around. I had never seen anything like that before. Miraculous is hardly sufficient a word. I was, I am, in awe.

Out of the eggs I put in on 2/20 2 pipped & died

2 made it all the way out.

I will give the other 2 dozen a few more days.

The good news is that with the 18 I moved over to the hatcher last night (set on the 24th) I could see movement in a lot of the eggs (some are too dark , but air bubble looked good).

Hatch!
I should be good with all of the eggs set on the 4th & after since I think I got the temp thing worked out.

I'm just praying some of the ones set shortly before the fix will harch too!

So sick of throwing out the DOZENS of fertile eggs I baked/boiled!

I've had the flu the past 3 weeks. Thought I'd give an update. I had gotten 2 out of all those TJ eggs to hatch, but they were a lot smaller and just didn't make it. They weren't very healthy from the begining, last to hatch and ate and drank, but were just so weak. Makes you wonder about the birds they came from.
