the Will They Hatch? thread

I know it's early but nothing looks like it is developing in my TJ eggs or even my refrigerated "control" from my own chickens.

Darn. Of course I'll keep them in there a few more days.

And yeah, I had no room for these, so I guess it's best.

hello all today i got my very first batch of "practice eggs" iven ver even used an incubator before much less hatched nething so im a little bit worried wether or not im doing it right. this is an old incubator the women letting me practice on it was very vegue on the details of how to use it and set it up

I remember that sombody posted that they read the date code [ and how to decipher it ] and only set the freshest eggs .

I didn't purchase mine (they were a gift) but the date was 027 - the 27th of January. The eggs were set 02.05 so about 10 days old.

I'm not ready to write them off, yet. I'm still new at the candling thing.

I'm guessing where you're at now is in the Guinness Book of World Records , for being the oldest student ever sent to the principal's office

Me too . My Maglite shows the veins in my fingers ; but I've yet to see veins in the eggs , an eye , beating heart , or even movement of that big dark blob I see at 18 days .........................................................

Are these your first eggs? I am SO incredibly new, so I don't presume to know much about eggs, but I can see mine pretty well. They are Maran eggs, but not super dark. I have a white silkie egg that is crystal clear. I usually wait until the evening and the room in dark, turn off the lights and let my eyes adjust for a minute before candling. Good luck!
