so eggs arnt fertile till seven days after mating? just heard they were fertile for about a week after mating, and guessed that taking in account day to supposedly make an egg (as ill sound nuts but had hen that had separated in locked cage and bathroom to tell that she actually was laying three eggs a day, yes she was totally alone so couldnt have mistaken hen for rooster). anyway my egg as of this time candling still doesnt appear to have an are sac, but does have a mass like the youtube link of six day candling, as well as band going around middle, no veining seen, though im legally blind... still not smelly though, and the mass swear moved a couple times, though could just be shifting, as only is at top or bottom depending on turning, but mass on side when in one position of turning. could be dead and show these signs, especially if i dont see air sac like clearly see in most link pics? how long if not developing before rots and smells or noticeable?
also just bought bantam supposedly, saved from predators, and pits chained in yard, were it was just turned out to forage (but all seen always had full crops seeming full of seeds except this one whose seemed same but squishy) with other bantam hens, one rooster bantam, and large hens and cocks (odd seeming even huge fighting type looking cocks all were so happy and hanging together with one to small group of hens close to each nd one another as were several cocks and seemed as many or more than hens, except bantam hens by selves but mingling through with all at times though had house for the and one coop house under back porch). it has spraddle leg i guess on one leg and foot, but got around fine walking on knee and top of foot. any way to tr to fix foot/leg? is pliable and moves on own just seems to been worse ever time i saw it since poult dodging in and out of by pits for food, but always had full crop, and better shape than some others, especially ones the dogs, coyotes (regrettably they caught one in act and shot the young pup), foxes, and mostly raccoons killed. or if not fixable on limited funds as i only could offer a buck and guy said it came that way and didnt notice till i pointed it out and was suddenly getting worse and offered when i went by today to me for buck still (who you suppose got the better bargain? as i was hoping itd bear confinement well or at least if not able to roost be happy in penned yard and maybe go broody and raise its own and maybe other eggs/chicks, as thought at first it was certain kind i now forget, but pretty black with green subtle sheen with red face and some grey in feathers on neck), before took rest to auction tomorrow (nice kid actually, though sad im trying to teach what i know of chickens as he asks and learn myself, and he is trying to get deals on seramas to me from family who deal in all kinds of chickens but they sell out fast, usually within the day at most). oh yeah, the hen is feisty, as she nested right down in my book back with a clucking, but after had in pen and she tried frantically to call and escape, she later pecked me when i tried to feed her... lol forgive the spelling my comp is terrible and having a time trying to get it fixed as canot figure out whats causing issues as repairman says seeing nothing wrong right away.
