the Will They Hatch? thread

I have Games but they lay light to dark cream and one lays a pinkish brown like a BR.

Around here I've only had 2 Game hens I've had a problem with. Caught one and sold her at an auction. Without her backup it put the one I have left at almost the bottom of the pecking order. As wild as the Leghorns I had were I can imagine them mixed with a Game. My Game roos have always been very nice birds, but I wouldn't let them out with another roo. Although Games are said to be tough I can tell you, my girls don't really like to be picked up, but neither do most of my BCMs and I'm down to one Silkie hen and she's a nut case. Try to pick her up and she runs like i have an axe. But the Games get along with everyone. I have some that I am putting my Wheaten Marans over, for the same reason you mentioned, broodiness. I figure with that mix the extra roos go to camp.

It would be easy to develope a resentment towards the USPS; I once waited a week for a paycheck sent by mail when I was home sick
[and broke]............................................. it was mailed from my employer located in the same small town. [And yes, it was postmarked as being mailed on the day he said; actually one day before I normally got paid.] I also got a Christmas present, sent to me "24 Hour Guaranteed Delivery", a week after my son sent it................................... dropped in my front yard in a rain storm while I was at work.

................................................. and back on the subject of the USPS; here's the answer I get in every attempt to track my eggs:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on March 02, 2011 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I take that to be the the USPS equivalent to: "

Okie dokie. I finally got some pictures of the biddies!!!

I did have to put two chicks down today
sad.png
Both hatched before they'd fully absorbed the yolks, and insides on the outside. Poor lil chicks. But, I didn't want them to suffer and stay alive to end up dying in pain...

So, anyways, onto chicks!
Several polish hatched, but without the telltale vaulted skull... very strange

Mostly Olive Eggers F1, SLW, a couple Speckled Sussex and some barnyard mix eggs just to fill up the empty space.
There is 5 CornishX's in with em, I picked up from TSC. So the 5 biiiiiiiig yellow ones are those!

So it's raining eggs at my place! I have unplugged my turner and will be going to the phone book method since I now have two layers of eggs in my incubator!!!

original eggs set 2/20....set 38. 16 still going.

The ee's, Porcelain D'uccle and some of my pullets' first eggs were not fertile.

eggs that came yesterday...31 sent, 1 smashed, 2 cracked. Set 29

More of my pullets' eggs. The roo is young and so are the girls so I'm getting about a 50% fertility. Set another 19.

Plus the replacement serama eggs arrived - 12 of them
I put my pullet eggs on top. I read on here some concern for the top eggs getting too much heat. And, although I'm using a forced air incubator, I put the "paid for"Eggs on the bottom. Just in case! so all total there are 76 eggs in here!

Welcome to my madness!!!
