It’s okay!! It’s still technically part of the Witcher world so not really hijacked! I just don’t particularly understand all the technical bits

But anyway, yes we did! We’ve been meaning to start Blood Orgin too but haven’t yet. We started The Last Kingdom instead. Well, for me it’s my second time through, Mare’s first. And I also started Vikings too although I’ve put that on hold until we finish TLK and then we’ll probably watch it together.

Vikings is good!! It’s a fan favourite in our house haven’t watched The Last Kingdom yet, but I did read the books the series is based on, years ago, and loved the story. I’m guessing based on your re-watch, that it’s good!

What did you guys think of s2? We’ll probably do *yet another* Witcher Re-watch before s3 comes out - I’ve also read online that another Witcher spin-off (Rats) is going to be filmed in my backyard (South Africa) which is awesome

S2 was intense. Plot-wise it was way more complex than season 1. Many more layers to it.

I personally like season 1 better (more monsters), but season 2 was just as great in different ways. I think my biggest pet peeve with S2 was (trying hard not to spoil anything here).... the 'creatures' at the end. They seemed like something real out of history, instead of unique original creatures.

Yeah, from what I’ve watched of Vikings so far, it’s great! I love it. You should definitely watch The Last Kingdom! It’s quite good. I also didn’t realize there were books!

I personally loved season 2 and I think it’s my favorite season far.

This might be the best non-spoiler I’ve ever seen as a huge fan of that movie, I get you, Mare

I think s3 will have even more politics and complexity because if the timeline keeps progressing along the current track, a major story arc from the second game is going to play out in S3 which will be focused on the mages (no spoilers here, either!)

Fully agree with you that more monsters is better though. That’s the core theme of being a Witcher, after all! Poor Geralt is just trying to earn an honest living killing things with too many teeth/legs/claws and instead, he keeps getting sucked into other people’s political and family dramas
