Some of my co-workers are Monsanto refugees. They have told me insane stories of their ex-workplace. My personal favorite was the chemist who was working side-by-side with his boss in a lab that was wall-to-wall fume hoods, with the lab windows open and a fan to disperse the toxic fumes. They were wearing respirators and lab coats, but no other PPE. Boss turns to my friend and says, "You know, it's times like this I'm glad I've had all the kids I want." My friend was then in his late 20s and had NOT had all the kids he wanted.
Also, I've TA'ed classes that were ostensibly to train future Monsanto employees (crop science, soil bacteriology, etc.). Those kids were just not the sharpest crayons in the box--I wouldn't trust 'em with a pair of safety scissors, much less my food supply.
