Nathan nodded. "46 years," he said. His tone was sad; He remembered watching his dad hand himself after he died from cancer at 8. It was the worst picture he could imagine, but he couldn't look away.

Maiya nodded. "Yeah, I think that's it."
"Are you okay?" she asked, slightly concerned.

"Yeah. Stuff makes no sense."

Nathan didn't look at her. "I- I'm fine." His voice showed that he obviously wasn't. "You said it." Maiya agreed.

"Jeez. 46 years and I [I[still[/I] can't get used to how I died." Nathan muttered to himself, slightly louder than he had meant to.

Maiya laughed, "Oh. Really?" her voice was sarcastic, and she took a dumb look on her face.
"How'd you die?" she asked. Then she looked embarrassed, "Sorry, you don't have to tell."

"Mm-hm. I'm cool that way."

Nathan looked up at her((btw I decided that sometime in the past posts he sat down xD)) with sad eyes. "I-It's fine. I had, um, cancer as a kid. I eventually died from it at eight. But i-it's not how I died that bothers me. Actually it does, but... After I died, my dad, my only family left, hung himself. I had come t-to see what he was doing after I died. I could only watch as he-he slipped the noose around his neck, and..." He was trying to keep from crying in front of this girl he had just met.

Adira squatted down next to him, "I'm sorry. I mean - you were eight. That must've been - must be - awful."
