Maiya nodded. "Probably. Why did they have to be so dramatic?" She flicked her hair out of her face, glaring at it like it had caused all of her problems.

Nathan had been so focused on watching the water that he didn't even hear Adira's approach. He jumped at the sound of her voice. "Ah! Oh. Um...... h-hi," he finally managed to say.

"No idea." said Gen, "They were talking about being twins or something when I left. I dunno."

Gretchen put up her hands, "Okay, okay. No need to get all defensive. What, a girl can't get to know someone anymore? I'm Gretchen, by the way. Come to think of it, who are you?"

"I'm..... J. Lee Harper. But, I go by J'lee." She said, ignoring the other questions. She didn't want to talk about her traumatizing experience. That meant reliving it, which she definitely didn't want to do. "And, um, sorry for coming off as rude. I just....don't want to relive what I went through. Especially since it wasn't that long ago, and scars are a bit fresh." She mumbled.

"Mm-hm. Funny, I never think of myself as dead anymore. Maybe 'cause it makes me think I'm a walking, talking corpse, ready to attack and eat some brains. Kind of like a nervous tic, you know?"

(ME: Gosh Gretchen. Could you get more open possibly?

"Yeah, you kind of are. Have you eaten anything since you got here? You might wanna, 'cause, as you pointed out…skinny." said Gretchen.

(I don't know how she does this, but she speaks quickly and casually at the same time.)
