The worst kind of predator

When i read your first post, i immediately thought about your trouble neighbors. Can't recall the final outcome from that situation with their dogs. But irresponsible people generally don't change. They may have let your chickens out as a retaliatory act.

Months back after reading about so many folks losing chickens to theft, i put locks on both our access gates. i couldn't imagine any of our neighbors stealing our chickens, but . . . you just never know.

i hope Matilda recovers from her injury. She may just need some time and TLC.
 
I thought the neighbor kids were letting my chickens out too, but it turned out to be a racoon that was smart enough to open the gate on the dog kennel. I had to buy snap-together dog collars to use as locks... you just hook them through the gate frame and the kennel frame. Easier than a padlock, and too hard for the coon to figure out.
