Thanks for the response ....Well he's supposed to be a she.. I really wasn't wanting a roo. I wonders what his temperament will be ... He/she kinda stay to he/she's self in the brooder.. I have a mixed flock and I only picked one columbian cause I think the hens are so pretty.. It was supposed to be a pullet. The lady I got them from says at 12 weeks she will take all Roos back but I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to exchange him.... Maybe I'll just keep him and see how it goes.

I have 2 columbian bantam boys that were sold to me as a breeding pair. They are the nicest little guys. Constantly talking to each other.

I need to find them some girlfriends, although they love the gold laced girls they are currently rooming with.

He could be. They occasionally throw straight combs. Supposedly some breeders use them from time to time to increase fertility.

His "type" is off for a Wyandotte. My guess is he is from hatchery stock that does not breed to the Standard. Hatcheries use single comb birds to improve fertility more often than most breeders. For a backyard bird, he is fine. But he would be disqualified at a show. Here is what a Golden Laced Wyandotte, bred to the Standard, should look like. Though this is an artist idea, it is a good photo description.
