The Wyandotte Thread

Blackgum....you have made nice progress with both the Barred and the Silver Penciled.

I'm still working on the Columbian and Blue Columbian. While I still have a few of the Black Birchen, it is not going to be a major focus this year. I will continue to breed and save the nicer birds, but want to concentrate on the Columbian.
I purchased a trio of White Wyandotte from Larry Dye back in Dec at the Shawnee show to bring in better combs on the cock birds.

@sueiris :

Pictures 1-3 show a good round chest and good horizontal wing carriage.
The first picture shows a better tail than the last picture and also the shoulders are wider, which is a good thing.
You got yourself some very good quality chocolate Wyandottes!

Breeding flock Wyandotte bantam redporcelain.
There's a blue laced golden hen with the flock to work towards the redporcelain Wyandotte with blue markings.

This little hen, born on the first of January, will get me one step closer to the redporcelain blue marked Wyandotte.
Her 2 sisters and 6 brothers ended up black. I wasn't lucky...
But this one hen is a start.

The second flock.
The rooster looks a bit weird on this picture because he just had a dustbath.
And the flamingo-pose isn't that flattering for his type as well.

Greetings from Belgium!

I posted a while back wondering pullet or roo... Any thoughts now? There were a few guesses that said roo! About 11 weeks
