The Wyandotte Thread

Their color will change dramatically as they mature. Here is an example of one of my birds at around four weeks old and what it looks like today!

All this I understand, two or three of the eight are noticeably molting.. I think. This bird though, it's different to say the least

Either way, this bird is one of the nicest and in terms of a "cull," it would only be from being a member of the breeding flock. Look close, don't you see the slightest and smokiest red lacing around the feathers on the back, best seen in the third photo in the lower right hand corner.

I am using this bird as comparison, who is also pictures below:

Also, would it be safe to assume that these three are pullets?

Nice pics from the ON. Impressed with the SP male....fairly good type and very good coloring. Notice his hackle and saddle feathers and also the wing feathering. Also a nice black breast. The GL male is not bad either but the two females could have improved lacing imo....type is decent and good wyandotte heads.
Thanks for sharing the pics, always nice to see some more Wyandottes. Would have loved to see all of them at the show.

no problem! that's what we are here for on this thread. nice pics of O N. show. wish I could ahve goon. Those chicks will change so I would wait to make your picks on who stays or goes and on who is boys or girls. I find the rose comb breeds so much harder to tell the sex of them on. I'm slowly getting it. I still post what sex pics just to see if I'm getting closer to being right.
if anyone has slw lf or partridge lf eggs for hatching from breeder stock please let me know. Or if you will have any chicks this spring. I would like to oder from Paul, but would like a diff. bloodline too. Thanks
