The Wyandotte Thread

Gotcha. Thanks for that! I heart the LFs and Wyandottes as a whole. Does anyone know or breed Splash BLRW or Partridge breeds? They are just such beautiful birds

We have Large Partridge. Their is also a judge up your way (WA) that is an old Wyandotte guy. I think he has a few. Larry Urban. His number was in the press.

I raise the splash blr- or did until the weasel killed my 2 roosters. now looking for a replacement and I have crossed in a white for better type.

I just talked to Larry Urban this weekend. Apparently he lost almost all of his birds, but check with him on the partridge. Another place to get some nice LF partridge is Paul's Poultry.

I think Duane Urch and the Foleys also have some LF Partridge. Seems to be a few more breeders of them out there these days. Which is a good thing.

I would try to get LF Partridge from Rudy Troxel or Duane Urch...that way you can get LF Partridge that have not been crossed on Partridge Rocks or Partridge Chanteclers , or if we keep hatching them out like we have been the last month maybe Mrs. Turbo could fix you up with a small batch..if you are going to get them, you might as well get some that have correct rosecombs.

Hows the SP going Turbo? We have a few but not near enough for what I need to get accomplished this year...
And good point......

I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm really not looking forward to potential predator deaths. We're going to have an electrified fenced yard around our coop at night but that's still not a guarantee. The bird in your profile picture is gorgeous. I just really love the Wyandottes!!!

:DWow I'd greatly appreciate it if it was possible. I'm learning that I'm a chicken fanatic. I'm just glad that I don't live in the city anymore! I think Id go mad if I could only have three and no Roos!

Question for the Foleys. Do your BLRW go broody often? Here are a couple of your kids ....

Lacy is the broody blue BLRW. Her sister, the black BLRW, insisted on adding an egg to the nest today. I collected the egg and sent it home with DaleAnn Fox to put under her broody.
