This is off the BLR topic but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to ask if you could post some pics of your shamo bantams. I go to several shows across the country every year and I've only seen, maybe, two shamo bantams.

Thanks,
Jonathan

This was my former Show quality Hen, Lacy. She was killed by a hawk in 2009.

This is my Golden Laced Hen, Goldie Locks. who is not show quality ( i think she is beautiful ) because of her Single Comb.

And this is Buttercup. She is my white Wyandotte. She is not show quality do to her foot deformity.

Love the white!

Oh, I am so mad at myself! I was at Rural King Sat., and they had a bin of "rare breed chicks". I got 6 NNs, but almost got a couple of Wyandotte there----but the guy said that they'd just be black when full-grown. Now I see all the pics on this post, and regret not getting them. Here's the good part: the rare breed were 1/2 price that day, but when I looked at my receipt, they had charged me full price for the 6 I bought---------I have to go back for a refund anyway, why not just get chicks instead?!?!?

I want to say this nicely, but honestly. None of these chickens is/was/ever will be show quality. They don't have correct color, size, or type.

As to the poster who asked about wyandottes because he/she just got 6 from the feed store. Well, good luck with them, but feed store wyandottes are usually nothing like pure bred ones. Temperament, attitude, personality, appearance are all usually completely different.

The birds in the above pics are likely hatchery stock.

Josh, thanks for posting the shamo pics. Cool looking birds.
