The Wyandotte Thread

I might be starting out with some Columbian Wyandotte Bantams. They will have good type, considering they are sports from a very nice line of Silver Laced bantams. What is something that you would recommend i look for, because I am new to Wyandottes. Also do any of you mind PM'ing me with contacts for breeders of Columbian bantams. If I start this breed, I want to go full force. Also, is there anything i can breed them to, to improve color and type.
Thank you in advance,
Zach Rose

can I get some opinions on this young 5 month of cockerel * his legs could be a little more yellow *

It is official…. this was our biggest, longest, and hottest hatching season and it has to come to an end.... We are turning off the incubators on Tuesday!!!! My last box of chicks will be shipping out, but I do have some extras that I DO NOT WANT to put in the brooders…….

I do have one determined silkie I might slip a few eggs under. Is there anything

than a momma hen and babies?

I turned off the incubator...then turned it back on-it's not hard to turn it back on really

Sadly the only chick to hatch from my beautiful BLR roo we bought from Foley's last fall couldn't survive the 104 actual temp yesterday fans and watering the pens just isn't enough for them it seems. He was a keeper for sure...We were working on picking his hens for this fall

My little cochin's are running around with chicks everywhere but really all you need to do is pile some eggs in a corner outside and maybe an ice pack so they don't get too hot and at night toss a towel over the top. Aug is just beginning we have a whole month to go

Sorry to hijack your thread.. but I tried sending you a pm and it said your inbox was full. I also had no luck going to your website. I hope this isn't an omen! lol I was trying to buy some BLR Wyandottes from a gentleman who directed me to you. I'm trying to start a small flock for my granddaughters to show from. I hope I'm not too late. Please send me a pm if you have anyting available.

Colby,
It must be both nice and a curse to be within driving distance from the Foley's. I am kind of glad I'm not as we would have several extra birds i am sure.

We love Colby

and not just because she is a good customer
