The Wyandotte Thread

Kris, you have a girl. She should get better pattern as she gets older. If it were a male, you would see much, much more black in the chest

Just got back to reading here. THANK YOU! I was so hoping she is a girl, but didnt know how they look at this age. So the cockeral will have more black on the chest, and the pullets have all the barring. She is so spoiled as she hatched as a singleton. The rest of the eggs didnt pip. Our boy is absolutly stunning, I thank Foley's for selling him to us, and the pullets and hen. Just wishI knew which hen she is out of.

Thank You for replying.

Jerry Foley has started chocolate wyandotte bantams available.

Hi everyone!

I got my first wyandottes two weeks ago. They are 3 months old I think. One is Silver laced and one if a blue. They are both pretty but didnt have tails when I got them. I was wondering does anyone have any pictures of the blues they could post? I will looking through this thread to see if anyone has ever posted one.

Thanks!

hi everyone i was wondering if anyone could help me, i would really like to have a go at showing my birds but i wouldnt know if there are any good i have some pictures of my chocolate hen could anyone tell me if she is alright to show or have i got a total crime to the breed standards also if you see faults with her etc could you tell me what they are so i can work on that in the future genorations? thanks connor

Our Wyandottes seem to all be different from one another. Some of a thin comb and some have a very wide one. Is this normal??

While this comb may not be perfect, your Wyandotte pullets/hens should have a comb that looks very close to this. If it is slender, a single comb, then your Wyandottes have not been bred to the Standard description of a Wyandotte. If you don't plan to show them or sell them as show birds, don't worry about it. Just enjoy them. If you want to show or plan to sell Wyandottes, you would need to get some that are bred to look more like the Standard of Perfection description for Wyandottes.
