I am new to all of this. I hatched some BLRW, and I am curious if the chicks in the picture are hens. The rest of the chicks have bright red wattles. The chicks are 4 weeks old. I cannot figure out how everyone is posting pictures into their posts. Any help?

I am wondering about my older chicks. They are 7 weeks old, and I believe all hens. Would anyone like to comment on color and lacing? I was wondering if the lacing changes after a molt?

I haven't found their lacing to change after a molt. If they have good lacing before they'll have good lacing after and if they've got poor lacing it will still be poor.

Bunchka - your BLRW 4 week old chicks look great. I can't tell from the pics but do they have really long side feathers too?

Mine SLW are almost 4 weeks old and don't show that good of lace markings. Half of mine are 95% black and just a thin line of white (I am wondering if those were mixed with a pure black hen/roo).
