The Wyandotte Thread

They will get more lacing as they get adult feathers and grow out. Is she hatchery stock? Most have less lacing than from a breeder. And, yes, that's a single comb-that also happend in hatchery birds. Still good for eggs.
Just looking for some advice with regard to my Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks. Here's one of them, at about 6-7 weeks.

Will her feathers get more white, or is this pretty much the coloring she'll have as an adult? She's young, but it looks to me like she has a single comb. I wasn't planning on showing or breeding, but I like the look of a rose comb.

She is hatchery stock. Good to know the lacing will develop further. Eggs were and still are the main goal, so it's all good.

Mine average an egg every other day. Right now they are laying like crazy, but really slow down in the winter.
Thanks

I have a question for everyone. I am parinoid about how my chicks will turn out....I am doing my first hatch from my best silver laced wyandottes. The father is from Foleys line (he is my profile picture) and the 3 girls I bred who's babies these are of "unknown" bloodlines (pictures of them below). I was very picky when choosing them to breed and feel they are a good representation of the breed. I picked one of the 3 to send to the fair and got a best in breed so I know that there has to be good attributes in her. So far I have 12 hatched with more on the way. The oldest have started to get a few feathers in but they are dirty/ mossy. I'm probably just being paranoid about them... they are still very young and barely have any feathers in... Your thoughts?
