The Wyandotte Thread

Just recently started reading this thread and wanted to say hi. :frow Looks like there's a few names in here I'm already familiar with. I have 5 week old SLW's and I am really excited about them. I'm not used to chicks that are this friendly and I am loving them.

Found out last night why I'm not getting eggs. I thought it was due to the fact that I had 4 broody hens and the weather got hot...not. It was a little stinker of a SKUNK. I heard a noise, went out at 1am to the coop, only to see a little black and white butt sticking out of an egg box. I snuck back out before I was noticed. It ran out and then left via my fence! Setting a trap tonight.
"Flower" is now relocated! Hope the bugger had no brothers or sisters.

looks like nice lacing coming in on them so far Slick! Where'd you get them from again, I know you've said over on the Marans thread, but can't remember!

Hi I have 4 dottes & need help on their colors & also Wyandotte personalities I have 3 of them where they like to be petted but when I pick them up sometimes they bite me, not peck, actually bite-mean little suckers! Is that a Wyandotte personality? They are 9 weeks old. I know one pullet is a Golden Lace & I think one roo is a blue lace red but I'm not sure what the other roo that has red feathers but not really laced & the midget dotte-what her color is considered....Thanks for any enlightment

I can't really sex them, but I see 1 pullet there. She is the one in the bottom of the pic. I can't tell on the others yet.

Thanks, Donna! They came directly from the Foley's. Our best count is 4 or 5 pullets and the other 6 or 7 are looking very cockerel like. Of course, I'm hoping some of the red combs I see go away.
