The Wyandotte Thread

I am not a genetic wizard but you need a rooster that has good color. The rooster passes on the color and the hen the type to their offspring. Who did you buy the bantams from on Ebay? I would suggest buying eggs from Jen C here on BYC. I have some of her BLRW bantams and they are super good quality! One is in my Avatar. She is the ideal color.

Jen will be selling hatching eggs again come fall when it cools off. Her website is http://www.thunderinghooves.us/in...

So, I hatched some eggs off of ebay. Gotta try it, right.... I have had good and not so good... Hatched BLR Bantams, The type is okay but they are washed out in the red, especially in the hackle. My question to the genetic wiz's on here, how can the red in the hackle be darkened?

Wyandottes are so sweet aren't they? I love mine. Looks like you have some pretty babies

Here are my BLRW splash babies, i think they are beautiful they are 6 weeks old today I think I have 4 roos out of 7

Miss Bonnie on left is half the size of the others

lareynadenada: I have a "Miss Bonnie" named Shetland, she's the same age as the other 3 but half the size. I'm new to Dottes is that common or wh

y would one come out so much smaller then their "littermates"?

Thanks, I will go take a look at them. Here is a photo of the best of Ebay hatched eggs. He is almost 3 mos. Maybe he will darken a little as he gets older. Also a photo of the roo from Foleys. Love him!! He really is BLACK, my bad for taking a photo in the sun...

Just wanted to share a picture of my Buff x Buff Laced pullet, Lacey. I was going to re-home her but decided i will probably keep her for eggs. She's 19wks old but seems small to me for her age, especially compared to her sister that's as big as their daddy already.

SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! The 3 SLW from my Foley birds are developing

Maybe when the BLRW start laying I will be in a better frame of mind and will not be so excited...... NAH!

Even though his color is light and he is a little leggy, he has nice body type (should be starting to fill out now) and a great, close to the head comb. I am real fussy about combs! The pullet in my Avatar (just changed the picture) is 5 months old.
