The Wyandotte Thread

Has anyone ever had a GLW that as a chick was mostly black? Like no 'gold' on them? I've got some 1 week olds (they're mix in with several other breeds) I can't tell if they actually put my GLW in or not! I have to SLW (obvious from their back pattern) and I have 3 CW (I'm fairly certain I know which those are..but then again..)

The last one I am about 98% certain is one of my SLW. Everyone else...who the heck knows. I'm just curious if anyone has gotten a GLW that doesn't have much gold as a chick.

I have a silver laced and gold laced on hold but i have hearts wyandottes can be aggressive. is this true for breed? They are beautiful and I really want them.  My coworker is telling me how horrible and mean her wyandottes were. Looking for a second opinion!!!  I have two 8 month old hens, and 3  11 wk old EEs.  I have 2 wyandottes, a buff orpington, and i RIR on hold. They will be about 7-8 wks old when i get them.
I'm new to Dottes but we have 2 roo's & 2 pullets that are not one bit mean :)

There are differences in the bloodlines. Some are nice and some are mean. I have had mean SLW cockerels and super nice ones, my BLR are super nice. The hens have never been mean in any of the different lines I have had.

Is henny feathering(not like sebrights as in extra silver llaceing on the wing were there should be white, a breeder told me this)

an bantam SLW cockeral a DQ? and how does it affect breeding?
Read the book called The Wyandotte Standard and Breed Book. It clearly discusses all the different issues related to feathers and breeding for lacing.

Sorry I changed the definition by hen feathering I mean not like a seabright it is a color fault on the wing with a lack of white

I can't tell 100% sure if that last picture the chick has gold on it because of the lighting. But in your other pictures, I do not see any GL.
