They are real cute on Cochins! But not desirable in Wyandottes.I actually like the bunny![]()

lol in truth my preference is for cochins over wyandottes... i love that superfluff look...
here is one of my mille fleur cochin girls, for example... but bunny tails are frowned upon in cochins too... the cushion should be nice and uniform, not cutting in at the sides like a 'bunny tail' does...
more cochins, with bunny tail type... (tho it is possible to breed out... these hens are the mothers of all my mfc babies, including the girl above) - btw, they're blue partridge split for mottled, bred with mille fleur cochin roo.

I agree I I have never seen a bunny tail on a LF. Also just an input on my breeding. I have a male Wyandotte with a nice wide tail. It is pretty much perfect but many of my hens have narrow tail bases. So far my pairings of wide male tail with narrow or okay tails on my females have given me good to great base width in my offspring. I'll have to get a few pictures of my breeders tails. If you can get a good male with a wide tail it should pass on (at least from my experience so far). Not sure about how it would work with bunny tails though since none of mine have it. It could possibly work the same?
