The Wyandotte Thread

I think they are nice as far as lacing, I can't tell on type just due to the way they are standing.

It's a big world out there! Here are my kids on their very first day outside in the "real" world. They're 7 1/2 weeks old. They seem completely disinterested in going back IN the coop - are more content to hang out UNDER it. That's fine, I guess - but gee, if I'd known a plank of wood to give them a roof would make them happy, I wouldn't have bought a coop!

Regarding BLR...
I have a 7 month old "black" cockerel. If I breed him to my splash hens I should get all blues, right? Has anyone tried this? I have only splash hens, their red is a deep cranberry, hopefully I could have some nice dk blue birds.

Against my better judgment, I bought some blr from Welp (I was curious). Ouch, I think they bred gl with white. I'm not even sure what to call them when I sell them at the swaps.

yes, when you put your black laced roo on your splash hens you should get a nice pretty blue laced color in all the chicks.

I should be getting bantam SLWs and a few bantam partridge wyandotte eggs later this week! I'm putting some under my broody and letting a friend give a few to her broodys to break them LOL These are beautiful wyandottes! Tell me what you think of them?

do you have picture of rooster? Same problem as mine, too much of a cochin butt to them. I haven't seen any partridge wyandotte's that don't.

Very nice! I love partridge wyandottes, I would get some my self but I already have black, and blues, and im hopeing to breed some splash in the futer, I love buff too. I would REALLY love to see a wheaten and blue wheaten wyandotte, and crele too. Anyway I wanted to post a few pictures, haven't done this yet so we'll see how this works

His father was a silver pencile wyandotte and his mother was a blue wyandotte. I guess you could either call him a blue silver pencile or maybe a blue golden duckwing. Anyway I can't really show him but I couldn't sell him either, he's just to pretty, I might play around with him this year, maybe make more like him.
