How old is he?

8-9 months old....maybe older. He is inside under lights. Not too worried about it but I only have 1 SLW roo that give me fertile eggs..... I am going to try this other line just to see if fertility is better. I am GIVING up on breeding the best SLW I just want to BREED SLW..... never have been able to sell a chick or eggs..... they have just been a money pit so far.

That stinks-he should be at his best right now. (9 months on up-they are the best for fertility-I've found and read). Is he the only rooster in the pen? I keep 2-3 together and found it helps. Keeps them all on their toes.

Yeah he is the only roo and has 3 girls. Same in the other pen. BUT no one wants to lay eggs right now LOL. I had him with the other breeds HOPING he would SEE how it is done.... didn't work. The other guy I think has the hang of things...... we will see. Not going to get rid of him yet.

I am building some new Single pens and part of the reason I NEEDED to do that was all the roos that don't want to earn their keep.

Draco,

I really like the pullet on the very bottom. She appears to have nice size and desirable color. Looks like the cockerals need some time to mature although their color looks good.

Roos that don't earn their keep at my house become "chicken duck" (which is what my youngest calls roast chicken dinner).
But if he's just a bit young or needs a little encouragement, then I'm more than willing to give everyone a fair shake.

hehehe "keeps them on their toes"

Opened my classified back up...I will have chicks available for shipping on FEB 3rd. Let me know if you would like some..

What a fine day out today. Great day to take pics. Had some fun with the blacks bantams today.

These kids Art Lundgren sent me a couple months ago. Pics don't do them justice. Should have turned on some tunes for them to dance to. They were all so relaxed in the sun, none of them wanted to stand up perky... Can't blame them!
