Lovely lovely lovely is all I can say. Are these the future parents? Are the girls laying?

Absolutely they are the future parents. The ladies are such stamps of each other, it is tough to tell them apart. One of the girls started to lay last week. He is just starting to feel his oats. There are a few more pics in the Silver Laced album...

I haven't found one, I just made up one in excel. Yes, I keep very detailed records. Their records start as soon as they go in the incubator. They are banded and photographed at hatch, 4 wks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks. It's tough though to single out one pair of breeder because pens of birds are used instead of single matings. At least here its that way for LF. Bantams single breedings are often used.

I do the same thing! I could not live without Excel. I have a template that I made for hatching; each egg is numbered and tracked and then the chick is banded, weighed, and photographed.

My hens use a different nest box so I pretty much know who's egg is who's and their eggs are slightly colored differently too. And I check them several times I day so I usually get the egg warm as they are exiting their nest boxes.

You need more chickens. LOL I was thinking of putting up a web cam. I use to use them for my broodmares. That way while I am working I can see who lays where. lol Beyond addiction...

I only have 6 laying right now and 9 getting ready to start soon maybe... But I have 24 nest boxes I think... If I am not hatching I really don't worry to much, only if I am collecting eggs then I watch like a hawk. I've only hatched eggs that I know the cross, because I like to keep records. So far I have only hatched for myself.

I have two foals coming in 2013. Mid Feb ( Peptoboonsmal x Freckles Playboy) and Early March (Peptoboonsmal x High Brow Cat).

Green sheen is reflective of the highest quality feather. He is fancy. Where did that white feather come from, lol?

OMG what a cross that will be! I wanna see when they are born. I so miss my babies that was my favorite part!
