I will have to say I am at a loss for why you are getting such brown chicks from these parents. Unless there is more gold in the males than what I am seeing. They are nice looking birds for SP, always a work in progress.
I will be interested to see how those chicks grow out also, especially the coloration of each color.
Did you get these birds from Foley?

I did get them from Foley. I felt the same way, I just don't see enough gold to be getting the brown chicks either. I will keep an eye on them. Maybe I will keep hatching them if I am only going to be getting about 1/2 that are usable. I am going to look the pullets over again.... maybe it is coming from a pullet

I am tempted to check with Jerry and see if I can buy another pair more SILVER. IDK.... just thinking. I really like them they are really cute... the roo has a little attitude but don't they all. I think I will give the other roo another chance and maybe a different pullet. Maybe the other one was not letting him mount her.

He did split them with the partridge so it is probably leakage from that. He probably had the same problem with getting partridge color and silver. He split the partridge with the silver to improve type and the cross probably wasn't to long ago that's why it is showing. Just heavily culling for color again. You will probably have the same problem until you get a few generations down when it finally starts to fade away. I wouldn't worry. 50/50 I think is good .

I like partridge.... maybe I will keep them and see what I can get that direction.

I was against myself but still nice the pretty one survived lol. I would definitely like to swap eggs when I can . I'll see if I have a few recent pictures of mine. My hen is looking nice but the boy needs to fill out a lot more.

I bought a Pair from Countrypunk92. He had some predator problems and thought it better to sell them. He lost one pullet. But his roo and pullet are not giving me fertile eggs. So I am going to keep hatching till I see what the problem is. Maybe it is the pullet.

Hmm.. Hopefully I don't have any fertility problems. I'll have to do a test hatch to be sure I don't send off dud eggs. He is definitely doing his job because the poor hen is bald so we'll see what my pair does.

I went to an auction today and came across a black Bantam Wyandotte trio. I could not resist so I had to get them. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to see how they show. I will post pictures later.
