The Wyandotte Thread

Hi all! Mind if I join? I come bearing pictures.

My blue Wyandotte pullet, Stevie.

Stevie's sister, Angel. Black Wyandotte.

And Cookie, my mom's SLW. Sorry, she's camera shy.

K Epp, nice pictures!

Now to go look through more eye candy on here.

I am tbhinking becuase i already have a few SLBW's and am considering getting whites(bantam) for an easier variety as well is this a good plan?

If you want an easy color whites are the way to go. Easy to get the right color and they have better type because they don't have pigment in their feathers. The pigment makes the feathers stiffer and heavier making them more likely to stick closer to the body.

Here is are some pic's of my Columbian Wyandotte hen and some chicks she hatched, and other she adopted. She has been a great mother hen so far.

This is an older picture of her before she started laying. She is a big fluffy girl now.

This is our Columbian Wyandotte rooster. He was about 8 months old in these pictures.

They look nice!
