The Wyandotte Thread

Pretty birds posted....
On eggs...I'd be hesitant to order when the temperatures across the Midwest to Northeast is in the single digits. The eggs in my hen house are too cold to incubate. I've been hatching, but the eggs for the next few days will go to the kitchen....a chilled embryo doesn't always develop.

Love little Wyandotte feet!

It looks hopeful that we will have a few chicks to sell by the end of the month-a lot are bantam silver penciled, but there is a little of every type of Wyandotte we have in the hatch bin.

Here's a picture of one of the partridge cockerels I am growing out. Pretty much all of them have orangey hackles but I think this guys pretty decent for color. I know it will take at least another 2-3 generations to get the color I want. He is 6.7lbs and about 9-10 months now with a lot more growing to go. I'm excited to see them all bulked out and start choosing. What do you all think of the color?
