Re-posting the question with pictures, hoping it will attract someone's attention

If it was the other way around you would have sex links. I think what you would get would be birds with silver and lots of brassyness. You could also get some Blue Laced Silvers with leakage. I am making that cross with SPLASH pullets and hoping for Blue Laced Silvers.... so far NADA

I think I am going to combine the 2 pens so I have 2 roos covering the pullets. We will see.

Do you want to tackle that project? Blue laced silvers? If you do get some chicks, cross them back to SLW till you remove the red.

Oh I see, is that a 3-5 year project? I guess it would be worth it for those blue laced silvers.

I just have to ask , why would you cross a BLRW with anything? After all the time it takes to get a good quality bird, why would you want to undo that? My guess is that you would get smuttiness in the lacing and lose the mahogany . Just a guess.
It just happened to be that the chicks are already hatched (by the farm owner) and I was wondering if that would produce something worth working on.

Ok, I kind of got it now. Blue Laced Silvers is the end goal. So re-did the chicken calculator and its much faster if one goes with a Splash hen rather than a BLRW hen. But then since the first generation is hatched already, maybe I will give it a shot. Lets see! I will try to get some pictures of the chicks to see if any of them can be identifiable as

Phenotypes:
Pullets:
blue patterned redshouldered/cream laced
Ratio = 1/4 = 25%, minimum of animals to breed: 4
Pullets:
black patterned redshouldered/cream laced
Ratio = 1/4 = 25%, minimum of animals to breed: 4
Cockerels:
blue patterned yellow/golden laced
Ratio = 1/4 = 25%, minimum of animals to breed: 4

black patterned yellow/golden laced

@DMRippy I am assuming I have to use the Blue Patterned Red Shouldered cream laced pullets to cross with the SLW rooster again. I know probably its going to be hard to identify the differences between the pullets, but at least one can eliminate all that may have yellow/gold in them as cockerels? Or does the cream lacing show up in week old chicks as well?

I recently adopted 4 hens from a neighbor and they moved right after and I am uncertain the breed. I think they are Wyandotte's but one has feathers on her feet. Is she something else?

thank you for the article! I found a wonderful lady with a big heart,and not enough chickens to take her. She has no rooster, so breeding will not be a concern. I told her trimming might be necessary as the beak grows, and she is happy to do that. I just fell in love with this chicken and did not want to cull her. I'm happy i found her a home.
