The Wyandotte Thread

I've been a member of the BLRW page for some time but am now proud parent of Duane Urch White Wyandottes and have BLRW Bantams coming soon also so decided I should just join the Wyandotte thread. Here is a few pics taken today of my Foley pullets(5 total plus one hen from last year), I also have 2 Foley cockerels coming this Friday.

Here's photos of my White Wyandottes, sorry they are dirty. Got home after dark with them lastnight and was so excited this am to get photos I woke up early to run out and snap them.

Nice! I have a pair of WW but have not had much luck breeding them. Going to use them to improved size in my choc. ..... we will see what is hiding under that white.

Well I'm new to this color and line. I have heard many good things about Duane Urch, these aren't crossed out. Came directly from him so I'm not sure. Others told me the white ones overall have low fertility haven't heard alot about his lines having it? Maybe someone else has experience with these.

I got mine off ebay but lucked out with nice birds. Fertility has been ok, laying is really low, but they are not hearty chicks for me. Mine are siblings so that does not help. I will use them else where..... I actually got them for a friend and now they have one pullet. She was the only one to survive to laying age from a whole season of hatching. I have several projects for them so not too worried. they are very pretty birds. Good luck with them!

Thanks, I'm quite excited to add them for next springs breeding season. I just wish I could zap that type into the BLRW and we'd be all set! I love Foley dottes, but I have yet to see them with this much type in them. No way I'm going to outcross them to try and get it either. That could take umpteen years and i'm not that ambitious. That's why I just said to heck with it and bought Foley birds right off.

I will update as I get some projects going.
Can't wait to see. I see you on alot of the other threads so I can only assume you keep up with the goings on around here. I'm looking for a reputable breeder of BLRW Bantams. I have eggs coming next week from .Sunny Side Up Micro Farm and am looking for more places to purchase from. Thanks in advance.
