Although I live outside town limits it is a residential area so I am suppose to only have 2 chickens since the last vote. I bought 3 Wyandottes out of the pullet bin. After a couple of days I started thinking they're all cockerels so I bought a Barnevelder and an Australorp "pullet". Can I have opinions on the sex of the Wyandottes, (not guesses) as I don't want to waste my time raising cockerels. They are 2 months old. There are 2 solve laced and 1 gold.

Mine have no problem here in rural inland Florida. Some I bought from a lady one county over, and some come from hatcheries: Ideal Poultry in central Texas, and Cackle in Missouri (which gets hot and humid in the summer too!). Just make sure they have shade and fresh water, just like any other critter.I see a few of you live in the south. I was was wondering how your Wyandottes do in high heat? I keep seeing them listed as excellent cold weather birds and was wondering if that meant they would be particularly bad in heat? They're such gorgeous birds, Id love to have some.![]()
