The Wyandotte Thread

I am new to owning chickens buy just bought a farm and had to get some chicks, of course! I have 3 Golden Laced Wyandottes that I got from a feed store that were a little over a week old when I got them (they were hatched on April 12). I have 15 chicks total of various breeds and thought that the Wyandottes might be the least friendly since I got them at a week old while all the others were day old chicks when I got them, but one of the Wyandottes, who I have named Eleanor, is the friendliest of all the chicks. The other two are definitely more skittish but all will eat out of my hand/settle and let me pet them once I have picked them up and they've flapped a bit. They are definitely 3 fliers, though! I just built a 3ftx5ft (2ft tall) brooder with a hardware cloth top and the Wyandottes frequently fly almost the whole length of it!

Hello,
My question is this. I want to begin breeding Wyandotte to create the colors of laced blue and or laced violet. I wish to purchase my own stock to begin the color transformation. What colors for the males and females do I need to begin with ? I've read several articles and opinions and found it a bit confusing.
Thank you

Wanted to drop in a say hello and see what you guys think about my first breeder birds. They are 4.5 months old. I honestly don't know much about breeding right now but I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Luckily, I have someone local to me that has been helping me with answering all he dumb questions I have about the subject and also supplied me with these birds. Hopefully by the end of the year I'll know a lot more about how they look once they fill out. I welcome all comments, opinions, etc. Let me know that y'all think. Thanks!
