The Wyandotte Thread

Campine lover - please post pics, I'm sure all of us Wyandotte lovers will LOVE Penguin too. Love that name.

Katy - Your Wyandottes are absolutely beautiful!!!!!!! I can't wait to see how my 11 turn out.

And I renamed 'Lacey' to "Lattice' - it seems more gender nutural. If Lattice turns out to be a Roo it will probably be the only one I keep. I have been taking daily pictures of Lattice to timeline the growth. So that someday I can pick a cockrel from a pullet too. I still cannot get over how they are suppose to all be the same age yet I have the fast developing Lattice and the runt which just barely even has a tail feather at day 18, I named that one 'tater tot'.

My first BLRW babies from Baregretchen, think they may be splash and the beginning of many more wyandottes I hope! I want to breed for the wyandotte SOP even if the color is not recognized. Can anyone lay those guidlines on the line for me?

Katy,
You do really have some gorgeous birds. Pretty nice SL Bantams, if I may ask who did you get them from?
The BLR are pretty birds in themselves. Now we just need to see some more pics of your LF SL and B/B/S! You know how greedy we all are when it comes to seeing pics!

I have to say those Silver laced Bantam Wyandotte are beautiful - the feathers are already distinguished. alot of my 19 days olds don't even have those markings. It's so much fun watching them develop every day though.

I have a question. I have heard that it is good to keep a bird who has a single comb in the flock of Wyandottes because it helps with fertility.

Has anyone else heard this and is it true? If not, then I guess I need to cull two.
