My problem is that i want to keep them all. They are so pretty and i like all the shades
But i need to buy a farm to do that
I spent 1 yr and 1/2 getting a flock together of the blrw Bantams from a quality breeder, and now i am either going to sell them if i find the right home for them, or send the rooster to auction and just keep the girls as pets.
I should have waited til we had more room
Sounds like my house!
I'll bet most of the BYCers will tell you the same!! Seriously, I have chickens from 1 year to 2 wks old crammed in every available space, plus I have Ameraucana hatching eggs coming in the mail as we speak~ my 5th time incubating this year!! I am trying to cull/sell enough of my chickens to have 2 breeding families of BLRW's and Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas. I hope to get my husband to build me a larger chicken house next year!
I hope you get to keep a few of your chickens as pets!
Thanks..... I will be keeping all of them....... but i already had one rooster, and the wyandotte flock has a rooster
so i really just dont like there being 2 roosters. I have a rooster guy, and i am about to call him to take all the boys.
I just hate to send the blrw bantam roo packin because he is sooooo perfect. It would have been nice to find a good home that would appreciate him and his girls. Its alot of work when you try to utilize all your space like that.......i miss having one flock.
I have a bantam barred rock rooster, a big barred rock rooster, a cute mini blue OEGB rooster, a silkie rooster who i will keep, and the Bantam BLRW rooster. So when he comes to get all the rooster hatchlings from this year, i will send him off
Sounds like you know what i mean too, you want them all, but then it adds up to ALOT real fast
