Paul's poultry is working on a Blue (Lavender?) Barred Wyandotte. If you go to his website and look at his "In the works" page there is a BEAUTIFUL blue barred rooster

I'd love to have some when he starts selling them!!

Funny enough, I actually got them from Jesse (we live very close to each other). They are stunning. I asked his wife about them, and she said they had gotten a few. I will definitely post some pictures, hopefully the weather cooperates and I can get a few tomorrow. As of now, it seems to be only the roosters that are displaying the barring. They're certainly a beautiful addition. And, they look almost identical to the birds on the "in the works" page. Maybe I got a lucky sneak peak!

I was thinking of crossing my Blue Wyandottes with the Dominique (to keep the rose comb) to get a bird that is blue or Lavender barred. Now I think I will be looking for a Dominique rooster for sure!! I wonder though, since you say only the roosters have the barring if it would be better to cross a Blue Wyandotte Rooster to Dominique hens? Do you happen to know what Jesse crossed to get this color/pattern?

Well I finally got around to getting the camera out and took a few pics of the younger wyandottes that I didn't have pictures of. First pic is of my favorite BLR pullet, great red color with none of the brassiness.

These 3 are her siblings and all have great red color without brassiness but more blue on the necks.

Here is my roo that I kept from all the others even though he is splash in color he had the best body of the others so I chose him for now.

One of the chicks from the roo and the other hens, has been hatched and brooded by their mothers and are very hardy but don't like the camera at all. It took me a while just to get this one!

Next are some young black bantams, first are two young pullets then a young cockerel in with the young runner ducks.

Last is a pair of white bantams hatched from eggs from Daniel Jerome, the cockerel has a single comb but if his body and everything else looks great I'll use him for breeding.

Well I can't take credit actually since they came from the Foleys. I had 2 cockerells that were just as nicely colored but lost them earlier in the year. Ill be ordering more from them in the spring to hopefully get a cockerel to go with them. I love their birds and what they are doing with them to improve on them every year!!!
