I can't wait to see how they turn out. Am I right in thinking this is a quad (1 boy, 3 girls)? I have 5 younger ones too but need pics of them still.

Our first hatch from her, we had 8 eggs, but only 2 hatched. The last time in April, we only had 2 of hers hatch out of 8(one died, it wouldn't open it's eyes at all). I'm thinking it's the incubator that's the issue. We had candled them and they were fertile and growing -just never hatched out.

Hi everyone,

I hatched a couple of Wyandotte chicks about 3 weeks ago and have a few questions. Out of 3 eggs I had 2 hatch, 1 of those eggs was about 1/2 the size of the others so very tiny. The chick from the tiny egg while it had absorbed all the yolk, did not look totally cooked. It had very sparse feathering and it's head was real small. Never had any trouble with it and at just over 3 weeks, it's feathers are looking normal. The other chick from the bigger egg had a swollen neck and died. I was told when I sent the photos to the person I got the eggs from that the tiny one was a splash and the other a blue I think. The color this chick is now is darker than it was to start with (more feathers) and the color of the other chick was reverse what this one is. What color is this? Also the combs on the 2 chicks was different and easy to see the day they hatched, this one has a straight comb, the other did not. Please excuse the purple, I tried to mix some younger chicks with older ones and it did not go well...

Thanks

I wouldn't have an opinion until he's a couple months older. Wyandottes are slow maturing birds. What I see right now is a splash blr cockerel about the size of a silkie. Nobody can guarantee a chick is show quality. Were you going to breed him eventually to the sexlinks?
