Can anyone tell me about when you can expect Wyandottes to start laying? I have 3 girls, all the same age (within a day or two). The Orp has been laying for about 2 months and the Wyandottes have done nothing. I have 2EEs who are younger by a month and one of them is laying too, but nothing from the Wyandottes. Your experience is appreciated.

Hi Terry,

I have LF White Wyandottes. They are gorgeous birds! I got them as chicks this spring and they haven't started laying yet. I have to get a light on them and hopefully they will start then. The whites are so big and fluffy, they make my hatchery SLWs look totally puny.

Who did you find that had good quality White Wyandottes chicks?

These hatched yesterday. They are Buff Orpington Bantam (BOB) and Buff Wyandotte Bantam. Nicole loves her BOB chick. She thinks it is prettier than the Buff Wyandotte chick. Which do you think is prettier? The BOB is in the back.

Merry Christmas from the Hall Family!

I'm not an expert (mine haven't started yet either & probably won't for at least 2-3 more months.) I just hate to see a question go un answered. Anyway, rumor has it they often won't start laying until they are 26-28 weeks or more. Hopefully, someone else will chime in if I'm off.
