The Wyandotte Thread

Since we are talking about Blue and Black Wyandottes lately, I thought I'd post some updated pictures of my babies. Still not old enough to lay yet but they are growing nicely.

The chickens sleep in my barn but love to come down to the house and garden during the day. It is rainy so they wanted to hang out on the back porch.
The splash pullet in the center of the picture is my favorite. She is very friendly and almost takes it as an insult if I don't pick her up in my arms in the morning.

Cockerels look so pathetic when they are soggy from the rain. I have no doubt they would march right inside the house if I would open the door. LOL

I love, love, love all the pics on here!! I have 7 chickens, all are SL wyandottes, and these are great birds! The breed is so easy to care for, and friendly, they have really spoiled me as these are my first chickens. The colors on the some the pics are sooo beautiful, I'd love to add more, but apparently you can have too many chickens, or soo I'm told.

I've been enjoying everyone's photos as well, so had to share a couple of my new bantam partridge wyandottes. This is my first year with chickens and I'm pretty excited about it. Victoria laid her first eggs this week so I'm hoping they'll be fertile to try out my new little incubator...fingers crossed!

Thank you! I really love her too. She and Albert came from the Foley's who are very nice folks and have lovely wyandottes. My mail carrier fell in love with her when I picked them up from the post office and wants to be first on the list for chicks. :) Now if I can just hatch some out...
