If you bred her to a standard black maybe you could get a few keepers with better tails and size. Lot's of weeding out but hey that's part of the fun right...

Actually. I might have to get in touch with the guy in Center Ky and get some of his blacks.


I knew when getting into them they wasnt perfect and need work.

I ended up with a Choc Orp Roo chick from Foley. He is a few months old not, but seems small compared to my black Eng Orp Pullets a couple of weeks older. He is about the same size as my Wheaten Am roo the same age. I don't think he is bantam, but not big either.

The English Choc Orp is named a bantam but really they are neither a bantam or a LF. Medium sized which makes it tough to go either way when trying to breed a bantam or large fowl from them. Definate project to stabilize size, but the great thing is you can breed them back often to a black Wy to get type. The bantams are not much of a problem to get the small size it's the standards that will be the challenge. Now to find the size in a black WY to get them to Foleys BLR size. Ha good luck huh! Have you heard if Duane Urichs blacks have any size to them?

BTW The choc orps we have are like dogs. Always underfoot, is yours?

I just have the one and he is in a pen with a Wheaten am. I can't free range my chickens. I am going to use my Choc in Orps not dottes. I can help countrypunk with more choc orps to work on his choc dottes
