I had some really fluffy Buff Orpingtons from a local breeder of Buff Orpingtons. I got non-fluffy Anna from a broody Buff Orpington from a local small farm.

American Orps are great, which is probably what you got from the breeder. I don’t like them as much as English Orps, but that’s just a matter of personal preference.
