It has been a long wait to see these guys in person. Story goes that I ordered them from my local feed store that gets them from Mt Healthy. They were ordered for the 29 of April but Mt. Healthy pushed them back till today. When I check with the store on Tues they said Wed they would be hatched. So I knew they were comming in today since OH is like at most a 10 hour drive. This was the first time the feed store has had anyone order PRs. Chris the lady who takes the order has been doing it for 15 years and they have used Mt Healthy in all that time.

Well, everyone is happy and chirpping and eating.

Pic is of them eating chick starter mash. That is why they are all in the center. I plan on feeding that all day to get them off right. There two other feeders in there are full but they have only picked at them a bit. I have to go buy a heat bulb my cernamic one is not strong enough for tonight. But for now it is doing the job. have to wait for hubby to wake up so I can leave since I am cooking also. He works thrid shift so we eat dinner early before 3 pm as he leaves at 3:30pm. OK I know enough talk here is the pic more to come when camera is charged.

That sounds good. I have always wanted to get some Partridge Rocks. I think they are very nice looking chickens.

They are adorable, what is that you are using for bedding? Is that the pine pellets? May I also say your brooder is very nice!!

Yes, the bedding is pine pellets called Equine Pine. Used to be Equine fresh I buy it at TSC for $6 a 40lb bag. We use it as a cat litter and rodent litter also. It really absorbs smells well and we put in compost after doo is removed from the cats. Takes a month for it to fully break down in litter box and no urine smell at all from all the animals.

The brooder is heavy dunage that hubby got at work. He bolted it together so we could use it again. It is 7' by 3' so the chicks have planty of room to grow in.

I wish I could find those pellets around here somewhere. I only know of my pet store that sells them and they are like 12 bucks for 20lbs. I think I'm going to try and look around more.
