I remember watching that documentary. That was one of the weirdest guys that ended up getting himself and his girlfriend eaten alive.

Oh, yeah. I was actually just reading some unreleased info on what exactly happened during their last 6mins alive and it’s absolutely terrifying. One thing I will never understand is why they chose to stay at the campsite when they were supposed to leave a few days prior. They knew that the bears were searching for food and getting ready for hibernation, yet he chose to stay there and risk getting mauled.

But, they recovered his arm with his watch still working. I guess it was a Timex, because they can take a licking but keep on ticking.

Yes, some of the vid footage was in the documentary towards the end of it but they didn’t play the whole thing…Apparently what happened was a whole lot of screaming, moaning, grunting and pleading. Tim tried saving Amie by taking on the bear and telling her to run, Amie tried saving Tim by beating the bear with a frying pan and the bear retaliated by dragging Tim’s body off into the brush. The last part of the tape was Amie screaming her head off in distress. She probably didn’t have anywhere to run and hide as she was most likely surrounded by bears.

As far as I’m concerned they were not even supposed to be out there in the first place ‘cos they didn’t have the law or proper authority’s consent to camp in that area. I feel bad for the bear…

Yeah, the bear that ate them was a 1000lb 28yr-old male grizzly that was said to be “scrawny-looking” with bad teeth. Now imagine how painful it must have been for Tim and Amie not to die quickly like they would have if they were attacked by a younger, more fit bear…

I think that they knew what they were doing was wrong, but clearly Tim showed us that he didn’t give a crap about himself or his gf.

I saw that documentary and heard the unedited tape.
Hadn't he been staying there seasonly for like 10 years or something?
I remember he thought he was special and they had excepted him. I remember right off he was getting too close to them and I thought no way this isn't gonna go badly.
