I live in northern Indiana, I go to the local college and feed the ducks every couple days. I've been doing this for a couple of months now, and just yesterday a Wood Duck showed up. I had never seen him before and I'm wondering if they are migrating this time of year? He seemed to be the only one there too.

So, are there any Wood Duck experts out there?

This is starting to be about the time for it. The teal are the first to kick it off.(migration) At the beginning of the month. Here in the southern states there is also year round resident populations of woodies.

I live near Grand Rapids, MI, and there have been lots of Wood Ducks on the marsh from early spring and through the summer and there seems to be even more around now.
