There was a snake in the COOP!!

I'm glad it was only one snake I hope none come back lol
You are smoking dope. I bet you have more than one snake working your area. They tend to have overlapping home ranges. I can sometimes find a Black Rat Snake, Black King Snake, and Speckled King Snake within barn or its shadow all in the same day.

Yes I figured there would be more there is a field behind my yard so I'm sure that is where they are coming from

Do you think they come every night would a hen braking a egg make them come more some times one of my hens will eat a egg before I can collect

If they are getting into eggs, they come only every few nights and it is temperature dependent. If they are not getting much, they will return almost every night. If they consume a clutch every time they come in, then visits by a given snake may be only every few days as last meal is processed. If temperature is cold, then visits less frequent.

To add more to this aggravating discussion; the snake below is not the same one relocated from last night as location of first snake is known at time picture below was taken. Also a Black Rat Snake and nearly as large as the first. I grabbed a couple eggs and placed them in front of snake to see if it would eat them and be photographed while doing so. No dice, it bolted for heavy cover to left after it had been in pen immediately past it for 10 minutes in image below. I should have just grabbed it.

i hate snakes that come in to my coop lol but i did use to have a corn snake has a pet his name was no feet :lau but we gave him away im hoping no other snakes will try and get in the coop im so happy it was only a rat snake and could not hurt anyone and im so happy that my broodys chick did not get eaten :):jumpy
Wait, he had no feet, or his name was No Feet.

Haha! No Feet ... love it!!!

At lease he's not a rattler. I just started a discussion on what happened to my hen yesterday. Oh, boy.

We found two baby snakes, the same size, near our back deck in the last month. There could be eight or more slithering around out here.

King snakes eat rattlers. If you don't want snakes on your property, send the kings to me, please!!
