There's a turkey in my yard

Thank you all, for all your help. I saw the pics of the Chukars. I do not see any indication of red beak or legs on mine, though. I am now leaning toward a pheasant.

I did go out and got about a foot and a half from it. It would let me get no closer, but did not run-just walked under the pine trees. On closer inspection, part of the tail seems to be missing, so I have no idea how long it was. It is quite jagged on the end, and there seems to be a bare spot on its rump, as though feathers may have been removed. There is also a bare spot on its head. This poor thing!

It has been dreary all day today, so I'll try to get more bird pics tomorrow, and of the eggs.

I would, like said before, set up some food and a little hutch/house for it and find out where it sleeps. Then, move the house over there the next day.

deffinately a pheasant. possibly an escapee. it's a hybrid of sorts. maybe a buff. or a yellow golden. what do the eggs look like that you found?

Definitely not a turkey or guinea or peafowl. I would guess chukar, except the legs are too long, so likely it's a pheasant.

OK, have not seen the bird yet, today. Figures...Great-Nephews from the "city" are here for the day, and we can't find it. They did help me take some pics of the eggs.

If the consensus is pheasant, perhaps I should go to the "Pheasants and Partridge" forum? I would hate to leave you "Turkey" guys, though!
Here are the pics. Keep in mind that I marked my "ruler" across the top wrong. The 2 should be a 1, and the 3 should be a 2! In the light today, they seem to be a light tan color, not white.

They've been sitting in the yard since at least Saturday. I know nothing about hatching eggs! How do you know if they are even good?
