i used to get five of those a night. they learned how to lay correctly, so now i only get wavy eggs.

It had a very big fat yolk. I've been told that eggs like that hatch really well.

Anybody have any experience hatching an egg like that? I have one hen that occasionally lays an egg like that but I always hold them back for eating.

Hello everyone! I just hatched 3 chicks from 5 fertile eggs of my barred rocks, which were similar to the pullet bullets

Two of them hatched normally, one pipped on the other side and needed some help, but now it's fine. I also heard one trying to pip in another egg, but it didn't succeed. In conclusion, I'd hatch these shaped eggs again only if there's no alternative. During these three weeks, the eggs from those pullets began to gain a more normal shape.

Welcome and good information, thanks. I have a BYC friend that also has brahmas and says those shaped eggs are common from the brahma. However, my birds (and hers) are hens, not pullets and the eggs are large. She says the eggs have hatched well for her.

I have ISA Brown laying hens that are bout 22 months old, one of our ladies lays the torpedo egg as often as she can... it is a little silly looking... and it is speckled. Not a double yolker but they are always tasty.
