we saw how he was today, and he seems worseYes, probably one of the other roosters. Did you gve him sugar water as advised? That's good for shock when a bird has been injured. You say he's not using one leg but you don't see an injury. He could be bruised and you don't see it yet. Part his feathers, look at his skin. Chickens bruise green. The sugar water should perk him up and then he can drink. Once he is hydrated he may eat. Offer him his regular food but wet it down so it is kind of soupy like oatmeal. That will help hydrate him.
the roosters are in separate pensWhen a rooster gets beat by another rooster they can get very depressed, give up and even die even if their injuries are not that severe. Start with the sugar water and see if you can get him to eat later. You may have to rehome him into another flock without other roosters or otherwise separate him, that's my opinion.
@Mrs. K what do you think?
It would be dishonest of me to pretend I can help. I'm not a vet and even if I was I would need to see the rooster in person to make any attempt at a diagnosis.@Shadrach plzzzz help![]()
