Thermocubes - for watering during winter

I want to live somewhere where I have to worry about it getting above freezing in the winter and my de-icers wasting energy!

Here in Michigan it gets down to well below freezing and stays there.... and stays there... and stays there...

Home Depot has them for about $12-13

Th Home Depot in Canada had no idea what a thermocube was! Lol! Found one on amazon.ca for I think around 12$, and it arrived in less than a week. Not really sure if it's working yet, as there are times I thought it would shut off my light and didnt. (Testing it with light before the waterer). Maybe I've already forgotten what 7C feela like! Lol...

Bought one at walmart for $11+ and just hooked up electircity to the coop this morning. I plugged in the thermocube and the cookie tin heater to it, and the light didn't come on, The water was frozen when I went out earlier. I did try the cookie tin heater in a regular outlet and it came on, so the coop must have warmed up some.
I'm going to get a wireless thermometer to keep an eye on how cold it gets in there. BTW, I moved my water in there for the winter.

As an FYI, the thermo cube has two outlets.

I plug an led nightlight into one so I can see at a glance if its functioning.

now that's a good idea
edited to add this:

The left outlet in my cube would not accept my nightlight plug, and I think that is why it didn't come on earlier today.
Defective, but I need it now, and the right one seems just fine, so I wiggled it a lot it went in, so tomorrow am I'll see if that red night light is on.
