I Am Searching For A Good Thermometer/hygrometer. It Doesn't Have To Be A Combo, Can Be Separate. I Know You Guys Have Probably Tried Everything, So Which Do You Recommend. I Have A Digital One, But Not Sure It Is Really Accurate. I Also Have The Lg Glass One, But The Backing On It Just Buckles In The Humidity So You Can't Read It. Help Me Pick One So That I Know I Am Getting Accurate Readings.

I would think that a glass oral thermometer would be good to check the accuracy of your digital thermometer. You could use fish tank thermometers they are very accurate. The most accurate way to determine humidity is to use the wet/dry bulb method with a calculation to determine actual humidity.

Thanks

I would love to see pictures of a Wet Bulb set up in an incubator. I'm not sure how you run one of these. I have been using a digital T/RH unit from the local cigar shop. You can calibrate it, which makes me confident of it's accuracy, and the temp reading is right on with my mercury thermometer. It is nice and small too, and fits in one of the holes in my turner.

for thermometer i use ONLY the brinsea spotcheck digital...dead on accurate. for my humidity, I haven't found a digital yet that is very accurate..s I use a wetbulb thermometer. the way it works..is simple..there is a wick on the end of a regular thermometer and the other end of the wick goes into a water resevoir of somesort...and the evaporation and speed of evaporation shows a specific temperature...you look on the wetbulb chart, and read the percent of relative humidity....for instance..if your thermometer reads 97F and your wetbulb reads 70F..then your humidity in a percentage is about 30%

petco brand hygrometer... out of the package it calibrated to 76% with the salt method, and 99% with the towel method... and it's 5 bucks...

i'm gonna start relying on the temp my controller reads for now on... watching it dip from 101°-98° stresses me out...
