thermometer position while hatching

Do you put your thermometer and hygrometer on top of the eggs just like when you were on days 1-17? If so, then how do you keep it there?

We have 2 thermometer that came with the bator and turner and then I bought a two pack round thermometer and hygrometer from the pet store that don't exactly set on to of the eggs.

We put ours in a plastic butter tray and set it on the wire. The tray also sits on the turners just fine....
